Leadership Nudge – VALUE YOUR TEAM
People that are valued by their organization tend to be more engaged and contribute more to the success of the team. They also tend to be happier and healthier and it shows in their efforts.
It is not hard to let people know that they are valued. Some times it can be as simple and easy as just saying thank you. Too often we get tied up in the next meeting, the next phone call, or the next crisis and unknowingly let opportunities slip away.
There are numerous ways to let those on your team know that they are valued. Asking how things are going, or asking what they see or how they would do something let’s them know that you value their input. Sometimes, that expression can be as simple and easy as a sincere and specific thank you that is not tied to bad news or a request for more, more, more.
My leadership nudge to you this week is this:
Get out of your office, find someone in your organization that you know is doing well, and let them know that they are valued. Let them them know how much you value their contributions to your organization.
