People don’t like to be controlled. In an Intent-Based Leadership environment, leaders don’t control what others do. Instead, they create safe environments where people have their own agency and control over their work.
I’m here with my friend’s sons, Tony and Cal. Tony’s not quite two, but he already knows he doesn’t like to be controlled. And he wants to have his own agency about what he’s doing.
So you look at that – hey, Tony, I need you to come here. This is kind of a fancy hotel in Warsaw.
And people ask me all the time, “But what about people who like to be controlled?”
There are no such people who like to be controlled and told what to do. Except for that. Except for robots. Exactly. Good point. Algorithms and robots are good at that thing. Humans are not cars.
