Embed learning as a day-to-day activity and develop others to become future leaders. Here’s Peter with more.
I’m at Doune Castle in Scotland, a place of myth and legend, dating back to the 14th century. Also a place of TV productions. Part of Game of Thrones was filmed here, as was Outlander. Most famously of all, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. And when it comes to leadership, is there a Holy Grail? Well, I think if we think there’s a sense of perfection or that we’ve achieved perfection, we probably can’t see the wrecking ball behind our head. And instead, perhaps the Holy Grail is about how far have we embedded learning into our day-to-day activities. How far are we developing others to step forward and to become leaders? So our Nudge to you this week is a question-“How far are you along the journey to the quest of leadership? How far are you at succeeding in embedding learning as a day-to-day activity, and developing others to become future leaders? ”I’m Peter Russian at Doune Castle. And if you look at that rampart over there, that was the famous place where the Frenchman leaned over and said, “Your mother was a hamster, and your father smelt of elderberries!” And that is your Nudge for this week.
