To invoke the improve play, the people who do the work should also lead the process to improve the work. This takes a shift in mindset from protecting the “Be Good” self to embracing the “Get Better” self. The language shifts from “Be Good” (“I gave it my best effort”) to “Get Better” (“I know exactly what I would do differently next time”).
